you locked it with the wrong password.

the only thing you can do is unlock it and then lock it with the right password..

or keep it unlocked but youd need a newer bios to do that and the only option for you is a newer chip.

I just read your original thread...

Unlock your hdd with the one that you made up and get a new modchip. if you dont have the original paswrod than yeah thats your only option.

After you unlock it try using an app called "liveinfo" on your computer if you have winxp/2k. that can guess what the hdd password would have been (afaik).

i can unlock it easily enough. the only thing i want to do is to read from an unlocked XBox HD in a PC. that way i can retrieve my original password.

I don't think LiveInfo is of much use to me, because I can't get the EEPROM .bin file on my PC. can't transfer anything from the Xbox.

okay, i have the drive unlocked.

i tried the programs on the url you gave, but I can't seem to read anything off the HD, i mean, i can't access it. Windows does recognize it (the disk shows in "device manager") but it doesn't show in Explorer. so i don't know how to read the directories/partitions on it.

what do you guys think if i used  HDprepar to prepare the HD as if it was a new HD? i don't care if the files get lost, as long  as i can use the disk/xbox. HDprepar at least showed me it "saw" the disk.

anyone know what happens when I use the program HDPrepar on my Xbox? does it make the disk usable for in any Xbox? disregarding the HDD password?
