 jester.gif he said it's not even out yet, I'm sure it won't be hard to make BFM version once out.

I'm having problems also running even the original games on a 1.6 with the Xenium Ice with the M8 v16, some do work others don't even start.

If you haavce any ideas please let me know because it seems there are no other bios for this version of Xbox that I know of...

Just for the record the system I'm using is:

XBOX v1.6
Xenium Ice with OS 2.0
Dashboard Evolution X M8-16 which according to info I read is the only one that would work on this platform...
HD WD 200Gb

The games I'm having problem til now are:

CRIMSON SKY***only shows intro and hangs
RAINBOW SIX AND SPLINTER CELL*** loops on Loading screen
All Lucas Arts Games *** Only Show Intro and hangs
WARRIOR *** does not even starts

As I said, I'm talking about originals.... others that do work for Example HALO, SPIDERMAN 2, MECH ASSAULT, MANHUNT...etc On those there is no problem to backup on DVD or Run from the HD as long as the original works...!!!
It's like from every 10 games 3 do not work under this config...

If somebody comes out with a Solution please let me know.....

+1, i am using a 1.6 box with the only bios available, and it has what looks like intermittent video problems.  Some games are ok, others glitch now and then and others will only work for a little bit before freezing.  I am not sure if there is a problem with the box or the bios, but since everything else is flawless i have nothing else to question but the bios itself.  Originals w/o the chip work fine, and games show same behavior when run from dvd or hd.  Anyone know when we can expect another bios for the 1.6? thanks!

Fwiw the video glitches are the same kind i see on my PC when the AGP setup in bios isnt tweaked just right.  weird, huh?

Hey Guys,
For those of you who have Xenium Ice did you use the beta OS HDD wizard to upgrade your HDD?

Is the problem only for your Xbox live games?

If so sounds like the same problem i had.

It (the beta OS) corrupts your E/ partition, easily fixed.

1. if you have a program (eg the Slayers EvoX Disk) that can format individual partitions then back up your E/ (for good luck) and format that partition. this will fix it.

2. you could update your xenium OS to the full version 2.0 which has an option to fix the problem (can't think off the top of my head in which option but it is obvious when you see it.) Id try this first but I have not tried this option as i fixed it befor the new OS came out. So if this fails then just do point 1.


There are plenty of posts in the Xenium forum, well somewhere here, about this topic, this is how i found out. and did i breath alittle easier.. love the ice.
