Will the X3 bios be able to be flashed to the TSOP so the days of loading your bios into xbtool would be over since it can all be done on the fly with X3? Is this possible?

How are they doing that. Every other bios is able to be flashed what is different with the X3?

no, not every bios is able to be flashed. Look at the evox x-chip bios. Or the smartxxOS, or the xeniumOS.

In the case of the x3, it reads all the "on the fly" settings from an eeprom, one that is not present on other chips. (just one example)

no, it won't work on other mods since the x3 bios requires some special hardware that's only on the x3 chip.

however, you can use the x2 bios, a release with 1.6 support will come out once it's ready.

No stupid , X3 Bios is only made for X3 , so you all Xenium and Smartxx whores cant have a high quality bios.

I understand that. It would just seem like since we are able to edit and change the proms that you would be able to have a hacked version of both the bios and the prom so that you could still let it read all the on-the-fly stuff from the eprom. I would think you would even be able to hack the bios so it would search for the on-the-fly stuff on the harddrive and let it boot those settings from there. Well, probably not because then it would have to be fully booted to see your flubber animation or whatever. Sorry if this is a stupid idea. I have just been thinking in my spare time, and it seems like it might work.

X3 bios only works on X3 hardware

the hardware is not on the XBox Motherboard , the same with Smartxx , Xenium and X-Chip.

if you want to TSOP , use Half for flashing and half for backup (depending on the XBox version that you have)

Like you said though, you would have to wait for the hard drive to init before you can read the settings.

I have a question, about the new X3 BIOS that is being developed: Will it be able to be loaded onto an X2.2 or 2.3 modchip and be used properly (as if I was using an X3 modchip)??
