Has anyone had any problems with Grand Theft Auto III or GTA Vice City when their HD is not locked.

I didn't bother to use ConfigMagic even though it was on my boot disk, because I never use XBOX Live.  I was just curious if anyone else has had this problem.  And if they have had this trouble will locking my hard curtail this issue.

I know I can boot to my XBDASH if I lock my drive, then I can disable my mod chip, but I don't want to ever use the XBOX Dash...don't like it.
