Are these BIOSes EjectFixed now?

You know, I was never sure how eject fix worked in M7, cause I had freezing issues with it, but I am using M8 IGR Compatible version, customised in EVtool, and if I eject a game the Xbox resets (boot screen to dash), but if I eject a video/DVD/CD either in XBMC or the dash (unleashX) it does not reset.
As far as I am concerned that is perfect! But possibly not eject-fixed! wink.gif

Big, big thanks to Nghtshd - great tool, great bios.

NghtShd, you may want to link "XBtool Color BIOS Preset Maker" (http://www.allxboxsk...ral&cat=0&pv=19) from your homepage/readme (or include something similar in your tool.. but why reinvent the wheel?)

it works very well with both xbtool and evtool and creates presets for them. undoubtetly you probably already know about it, but it may save people a whole 10 seconds of searching wink.gif

I think I was linked to it at one time, and then it quit working for a long time (it's written in flash and needed to connect to a website which was down or something), so I removed the link.

You don't. You download the pre-patched versions.

Thanks NghtShd

I don't know if the one I have is "pre-patched", I used it to flash my 1.6 and it's working fine, but when I try to open it with EvTools it reports "Unknown Kernel".

Instructions?

get a lba48/igr patched bios from the _unofficial folder on xbins where you got m8 the first time.

I got the newest EVtool, but all the options are grey'd out and can not click on anything.  Any suggestions?  using the m8.bin bios.

IRONH1:
Yo must download a Pre-Patched M8.bin, it's at the usual places as a "unofficial" bios.
What I don't know is if it will be safe to flash the Aladdin with a EvTool-edited bios.

Well, safety with Aladdins depends upon whether you have an external programmer to reflash if it goes wrong! wink.gif
I don't, but then I like to live dangerously - so, I have tested both M8 variants (Q-IGR and C-IGR) modified in EVtool without incident. I prefer Compatible IGR tho', as quick IGR still returns to Disk and is therefore only slightly quicker on HD games. Also seems more stable with regards to reset on eject. Quick IGR seems to do it at random.

I'll have more of a play with M8 when I get home next week.  Will be interesting to see if the lack of EjectFix has any effect on Px HDD Loader...

Well, I can confirm that I can copy discs in DVD2Xbox without it resetting, even with auto-eject enabled. In fact, it only resets on eject if you are actually playing the game - not if you just put it in, copy it, go back to dash or whatever and then eject.
As I stated previously, I am a bit fuzzy on how M7 without ejectfix worked, or indeed X2 bioses, but this seems pretty a neat system.

kaede2k1,

Thanks, I was just reading that thread.

BlaBLong seems to have had a bad flash. He said evox hung while flashing. So that isn't an EVtool/M8 issue.

grug can boot a DVD, but when he tries to load the dash he gets an error 21. I can't say where to place the blame here, but I'm guessing that it's trying to load the MS dash and for some reason the MS dash is balking. Without more information I can't say.

I have no idea about takagen's problem. He doen't give any information about his chip or bank selection or anything. I know there's a problem with some X2 chips if you don't do the banks right. I guess it has to with the entire chip being addressable when you choose the last bank and so you get the wrong init table or some such.
