I got my ICE working in my 1.6 last night, got a 160 I want to put in.  .06 for one big F right?

Is there a new version of Config Magic out that works on 1.6?

I prefer to lock hard discs using config magic :-) Well, it locked just as well with Evo-x, so everything works well so far.

Does evo-x also set the master password "TEAMASSEMBLY" when it locks the drive? That password have helped me resurrect a lot of customer HD:s from broken boxes...

I'm running Xenium ICE, 1.6, 160gb using the .06 all F: version, working great.  FTP'ing like a banshee.

Since we can't unpack and hexedit, and there's no patch tool, can you release one to "the usual place" with more than just Evox and MS Dash in the boot order?

Specifically I'm hoping for UnleashX, then Evox, then MS Dash.

I know it's a pita to request something custom like that, maybe you have an idea of when a working tool will be around?  I could wait awhile...

Hmm, ok, since this is all new, maybe someone can answer this...

Do you need to reformat the F drive once you put this new bios on? Reason I ask is because I formatted the F drive on a 250G with the normal M8 bios (that obviously only showed 127G) but now that I just reflashed with this new bios and rebooted it shows all 241G free on F without needing to do a reformat. Is this going to work or will it bomb out at 127G? I just dont wanna fill that much up only to have to reformat it again tomorrow.

I haven't formatted it for the first time yet.  This is a brand new box, with the stock drive in it and locked.  Config magic doesn't seem to work on the 1.6, so I guess I'll have to use the pain-in-the-ass HDD unlock program on my PC in order to use this drive in something else.

Right now the 200 gig drive is still in the packaging, straight from Newegg.com.

As for you gaining xtra space w/o losing things, I had that prob too on my older box.  I had to use a G partition.  Here's the tut I used.

Just flashed it, and it booted just fine at least!  Now I've gotta make a backup of this drive, stick the new one in, and try to format it.

edit:  Just formatted it, and it shows 191.998.607.360 free on F, so I think it worked!  Woo hoo!   I copied C and E back over successfully, and now I'm on to the big stuff--apps, emulators, games, and videos.  About 160 gigs in all, I think.  It's running pretty steady at around 7000-8000k.

Would it be OK to run Avalaunch on this BIOS, or should I stick with Evox (older version--I hate 3935)?

While not a bad idea, you didn't have to backup your drive.  You could've hooked the new drive in place of the dvd rom and used OS2pre's hard drive upgrade wizard, it would've formatted the 200 gig drive and copied over all the partitions from the old drive.

As for running Avalaunch, I think you can, but M8 boot order only contains Evox, then MS Dash for now.  You could try renaming Avalaunch to evolutionx.xbe I guess.

Let me know if it works, I want to run UnleashX.
