If I put an MS bios on my chip can I go on live without being banned?

Probebly would. Not sure, but why don't you use your normal TSOP? Unless you flashed it.

Well the d0 area got messed up so I had to ground the do and chip it for it to work. Which reminds me, I need to get another chip, psu, and daughterboard.

you shouldn't get booted from live as long as you booting from a MS bios. doesn't matter where it loads from, just as long as the bios loaded in memory is theirs. just make sure the bios you use is compatable with your box.

As of right now Live just detects the Md5 hash of the bios in memory. As long as you have booted a genuine M$ factory bios then you can get on live no problem. It doesn't matter where it is booted from. (for now at least)

Is there any easy way to get the original bios without going through all that raincoat and 007 stuff? I just cba tbh

hehe I never noticed them on xbins when i was looking

But can I just use any old bios on a 1.4 Crystal? I can't find out the original one's, as I can't boot from the tsop, as my d0 is grounded due to my poor soldering ending up in destroying both d0s and traces, so when I look in system information all I get is K 1.00.4981.67, so that'll be the xecuter one then

so can I just use any old one and get away on live with it?

You need to get one that is compatible with a 1.4 box. Wouldn't want to get an old bios with no focus support.

Do some searching theres sure to be a list of what stock bios's are compatible with which xbox's.

that's why I asked, but from what I salavaged fromt he google search, it seems that 5713 is the crystal bios, but the one on xbins is 1mb, which my xenium on os2 doesn't like so I tried 5101, which I thought would have Focus support and I just got my xenium to boot it to the original dash. Now my question is would I be banned from live if I tried it with a retail bios other than the one my xbox is meant to have, ie can they tell what bios it's supposed to have (5713) and if the one being used is older (5105)? Ta for the help

He left it on his xbox after he backed up in evox, I just grabbed it

Well if it doesnt work, I'll just give him a new one. Mabey he'll pay me to fix his error 5.
