I think ur suppose to solder it to the header...like first the header the the rebuild

Scary thought: How can one tell if the bios is the official release or the bugged beta? mean ppl out there...might try to spread the beta and toast pplz boxes...

Well the official install guide says to put the header on last. I can understand on the easy rebuild (underside) the header fitting in but the advanced rebuild is done on the top of the board, so the solder would block it. I dunno  blink.gif

Why are there two diagrams? It looks like they point to the same points, exept the bottom one is on the bottom of the mobo. And it doesnt show the D0 point on the bottom pic.

there r 2 diagarams 1 for the top of the mb (its harder to do but faster so for skilled solders) and the other for the bottomof the mb(slower to install cuz u hav to take the mb out but easy for ppl that r not so skilled at soldering)

is the x2.3b lite compatible with the 1.6 xbox & with this new bios?
and where would one find the diagrams for something like that?

just tried to create a 1mb bios for my x2.3b lite chip.. wont work.. X2BM wont reconize the bios to create a 1mb bios.. M8_16.bin is 256k.. and the lite chips uses 512k banks x 2

i think this is the command for dos (can't really remembeer corrret me if i am mistaken) get in to the dir of the bios then do this command
copy /b bios.bin+bios.bin+bios.bin+bios.bin=1m bios.bin
or
copy /b bios.bin+bios.bin=512k_bios.bin
(put the name of the bios file in bios.bin and the name that u want to give the file at the end)

any word on the aladdin advance 64 working in the v1.6?

Badvs3vil got it going, he has not posted any details but I'd imagine you'd want to rebuild the LPC using the same directions as located in the Xenium install guide.

If you follow Xenium Install guides and rebuild the LPC, all mod chips should work, am I not right?

Aladdin Advance works after you rebuild the LPC port and with the M8 16 bios installed on the chip.
The console i'm working on has 120GB hard drive that's reading 0MB on all drives  unsure.gif  and formatting from evox dash don't work (evox dash from disc)

Did you just connect the v1.6 LFRAME to the Aladdin d0?

Are you sure it booted ok? I can't understand why you are having HDD problems if the Aladdin booted.

If I install my 2.3b lite on my 1.6 box, should I be able to flash the chip with the m8 bios no problem?  I mean, since the chip already has the cromwell bios installed on it, will the bios flashing sw work on my xbox after I install the chip?

the way I understood it was that the lite chip has 1024 of memory, or 4x256k.  There are 4 banks technically, but with the lite, however, you only have access to banks 1 and 3 (this corresponds to 1 and 2 on the switch)

Hey guys, just wondering why universal IGR wasn't added to the M8 bios(for all dashboards)?  I love using the M7 and it is the only new feature I would like to see on an Evox bios.  Sorry if this has been answered a hundred times.

I imagine it's becuase evox bioses are hacked MS bioses, and if the original doesn't have extra stuff liek IGR, then the evox one won't either.  Its main purpose is to boot unsigned code, which it does rather well.

The X2 bioses are builst from the ground up and that's why they have extra shit in them, like IGR.

If that was true they would be completely legal.  laugh.gif

Yes I think this is true, I have got my Akira2 chips working now as well as my Xenium, just grounded the v1.6 LFRAME point to ground on the chip, so I guess any ground will do.

I would flash the M8_16 bios first in another XBox, then when the XBox powers off after it has flashed, remove the modchip and install it into the v1.6. Who knows if Cromwell is still compatible, probably not.

I think im being stupid here.

I have a xbox v 1.1.  There is no reason for me to upgrade my m7 to m8 is there as m8 is just for v1.6?

Yes thats correct, if you don't have a v1.6 you don't need to do anything.

Unless you want an EvoX splash logo in the top left of your screen when you boot smile.gif
