i had a simalar situation with my xbox all i did was reflash my bios with a diffrent bios. try x2 4983 or evox m7

Thanks for the ideas guys.  Neither work though.  I tried putting the newest x2 bios and playing with the parental controls.

I did find something odd though.  While reflashing the bios I noticed that the 120 gig drive was NOT in Cable Select mode.  I put the jumper in the proper postion and as best as I can tell nothing has changed.  The unit still reloads the dash no matter what app or game I try to start.  Anyway, not really sure if that was helpfull info.  

So any other ideas?   I am at the limits of my skill in this area.  I need some expert suggestions.

Any one got any ideas on this thread?  I appreciate ANY suggestions at this point.  
BTW, I don't have the original HDD to test the unit in a factory state (at this time).

Try booting from media (CD/DVD)

Try Original games

Try Avalaunch (Try launching from the file manager in avalaunch as well as from the main menu's)

Try PBL (Not built with the xdk migth access hardware differently)

Try reflashing with a bios with no dvd drive check then remove the dvd drive (You don't have to remove it from the case just keep it unplugged).

Try taking the HD out and put it in a pc. Reformat it to NTFS and run a thorough scan disk.

At least make XBMC you default dash then you might be able to play media.

I always fit HD to xbox's with the jumper in master position.

I've seen oddball stuff like this before, where even EvolutionX 3935 kept bouncing back to the Xbox logo, although EvolutionX 3752 was happy.

Reason: videomode was screwed (ConfigMagic reported it as "unknown".
Fix: Enigmah Videomode Switchdisc.

AFAIK XBMP was the culprit.  Always seems to be the last thing run before the video settings go all-to-pot, resulting in reboot loops, audio-but-no-video, or both.  In all cases a copy of the EVS sorts things out.
