heya guys;

my mate has just brought around an xbox of his friends... aladdin advance 32 modchip.. the xbox boots fine in modchip off mode but frags in modchip on state wif error 9 (
kernel- HDD parameter (PIO/DMA/ or size {debug}, certain size)

my understanding of the situation is that he tried to update his bios (what bios im not sure) to run a HDD larger than 137GB and used the G: partition fix accordingly and from here neither hardrives would boot wifout error 9's.. Unfortunately while I've tried the HDD's ive got here (still error 9) ive got none that are over 137GB.. would this work if i had a drive over 137gb?

unfortunately  this error also doesnt let me boot from a disc as I have swapped the xbox's DVD-ROM over to my own unit & it doesn't let you pass the error 9 screen to boot from any of my bootable cd's so i can't reflash the bios to see if that is the issue

while i thought of hotswappin the modchip wif my own; its hotglued down over the lpc (so that the installer has been able to use no header or wires since it's alligned wif the lpc).. how would i be able to get this modchip off wifout risking the guys box?

I can help to think the answer to this is posted somewhere already in this forum but unfortunately i haven't stumbled across it (dam disabled search feature), and the posts i found through google and other assorted search engines only led to threads that were never solved..
