QUOTE (maddriver @ Jun 15 2004, 11:37 PM)
I'm looking to create a disk that will format the C drive with no warning and no interaction.  I can create startup disk but why won't this work -

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
   Item " ",@210
}

[Action_10]

Info " "
Warning " "
Warning " "
Warning " "
Warning " "
Progress " "

ConfigSector "\disk.bin"
Format c:

Hi

OK.. I may be talking out of my rear end here but looking at a evox.ini that I have with the formats commands in it.

***********I MIGHT BE WRONG WITH THIS************

The command to just format the c: drive is as follows:

[Action_11]

Info "Formatting C:"
Warning "This will erase ALL data on C: Drive!"
Warning "The M$ Dash will also be wiped!"
Warning "Make sure you have a full HD backup!"
Progress "Formatting C: ..."

Format c:

**************************************************
I'm guessing that the disk.bin is used to format the whole HDD with it's c: e: f: g: x: y: z: ....

Give that a try and see how you go or you can wait for a better answer than this one.

GreetZ

PS: Is that the only commands that you have on your evox.ini? Because if it is you have to include everything from [Misc] to [Menu] and the [Action_10] if everything is in there, than try changing to the above and see if it works, other than that I'm not sure.......

I appreciate your input but here is what I think I know already -

The fact that an entry is within the MENU area means that it is going to be displayed and then must be selected.

The config.bin is used to set the phyiscal partition size of each logical disk.  I removed the FORMAT E, F and G because I don't want to lose information on these sectors just C:

The INFO and WARNINGS cause "ARE YOUE SURE" type prompts and YES and NO required user selections.

I'm going to try and move the FORMAT command above the MENU items hoping that it will get executed before the MENU commands/displays.

moving FORMAT before the MENU area did not execute and the norml MENU was displayed and functional.

Still looking for help on how to fully automate the formatting of C:  TIA.

why the heck is it so hard for you to select a menu option? fully automating it is dangerous, to say the least. what if someone puts the cd in accidently?
I somehow got the feeling that's exactly what you are trying to do, to fuck someone's xbox up.

No shit, Sherlock. The "without warning or user interaction" is pretty obvious.

Let me just say that if you were to do that to me, I would make sure you suffered.
