I'm using X2 4981.06 blue colormod bios and sometimes it boots to the xboxdash.xbe instead of the thclite.xbe that I have it set up for. I edited it to boot to thclite.xbe using xbtool. I am wondering if either the bios being an unofficial or that it is edited using xbtool is a problem or if there is any other reason that can be causing this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Any chance your mod chip could be malfunctioning intermittently? If it wasn't working, the Xbox would load up xboxdash.xbe, which is probably more likely than the BIOS randomly forgetting the boot order.

yaeh if it's only sometimes that it does this to you than your d0 more than likely does not have a fully secure connection

My hard drive isn't locked though so if the modchip weren't booting a bios wouldn't it give me an error code?

I tried that and that doesn't seem to fix the problem either. But thank you for the suggestion

I reflashed with and unaltered bios and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks to everyone for their help.
