Using Eject To Turn Power On.
« on: December 07, 2004, 01:18:00 AM »

Ok, no one was looking at my response to the eject button trick..  I used ltool 1.7.5 with the splinter cell exploit to softmod an xbox.  I used evox m8 and the PBL-Metroo loader.  Now i want to be able to turn the xbox on and go to the evox menu using the eject button...  What i have been told so far is that i can replace the dualboot.xbe with the loader (or PBL-Metroo) and am unsure on how this can be done.  Am i able to just ftp using flashfxp, and remove the dualboot.xbe, then plop the PBL-Metroo into the folder in its place?  Or is there some special way i need to do it?

ldots actually posted the code for a no-dualboot .xbe in his (massive) thread. THat would be an easy way. Just replace the appropriate file.

Or, replace dualboot.xbe with pbl, renamed to dualboot.xbe with the necessary files.

Thank you for the help.  I'ma check out idots tutorial later, but i think i will try the method you said here with the renaming of the pbl.  Thanks.

Do i rename the pbl-metoo.rar file?  Or is there a file within the .rar that i use?

unrar the file. Put everything in place of the dualboot.xbe ( default.xbe, config file, bios) Edit the bios as needed with the included evtool (which doesn't need to be on the xbox, sorry). Be sure to rename the .xbe to the dualboot.xbe's name.

Evtool is included in ltools?  As for editing the bios, when i'm finished with the editing i just place the newly edited bios into the folder where the original was and just replace it?  Is there a tutorial anywhere for this?  I mean, i somewhat understand.  I have a copy of the hard drive on my laptop so i'm going to mess around with it.
