If it was using the No Flubber patch then it was entirely my fault, after reading what you wrote I went through and tested each one over and all except that one worked. I think I may have patched it against an already patched file when making it. I uploaded a working version: http://www.angelfire.../noflubber2.zip

Hey cool... thanks for the info angelfly.  I don't think it was anything you did... just my own carelessness actually I'm sure... I patched a fresh 4983.06 with with ppf-o-matic and your purple ppf file... then I use the bat program team xecuter inclued with the bios to make it a 1 meg image... transfered the file to my xbox... then I booted the xbox to evox... turned off switches 1, 2, 3 (and I'm not sure about switch 4 - that's where I fu**ed it up I think, I don't know if I left it on or off)... then I flashed and it powered down... then it was toast...  ohmy.gif  ... so I fidled with every combination of switches and couldn't get it to come back up... unfortunately I didn't have a parellel cable at home so I had to wait till I came to work today to get one... now I can't wait to get home and try to flash via the cable, since I've never done that before, it should be fun...   smile.gif

EDIT: Went home on lunch and took my laptop with me with the parallel cable... flashed bank 1 with evox m7 bios .. flipped switches 3 + 4 on and booted up and wallah... back in business...  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Glad to hear you got your xbox back up bloodymary. What do you guys think is better a ppf that changes the file or an .exe that can run on its own? I could make the exe's but it sounds like people like ppf's better.

Angelfire will not let me dl the patches. Anyway, I am working on 4981 and trying to get it orange.

my code is...

44C7 4418 0000 003F D9E8 D959 50C7 414C 0000 0000 D9EE
This should give
R=1.0 (255) G=0.5(112) B=0.0(0) A=1.0(255)
It's effect is going orange then green. How can i make a constant orange?

No luck yet on changing the X logo or Text. I have been playing paintball over the week so I did not get working on the exe for changing the blob. I should have time to do that this week and playing around with 4983.

I didn't spend too much time on it either I've been messing around witht the flubber still. Now I'm able to make the scene fully red or blue (including the color of the fog). If I can find the other stuff I can make a 4983 color mod like the 4981. I already have m7 fully red and blue. Once I tinker with ti a bit more I'll release some more patches

You found the fog? What version 81 or 83? Do you mind releasing them here or PMing me?

Thanks,
Kyle

Yeah I found it in 4983 (but can also track down on any other). It's just like the scene geometry. Goto 5e81f and you should see "e8" then 5 bytes after you should see "ec". Just switch those two and you've got red fog. Also 3 bytes away from ec you should see "f0", switch that with ec for blue fog. Also if you want no fog then change then change all three to "ec"

Thanks angelfly thats cool now that the fog is changed. Good Job  biggrin.gif

Hey, do these patches change the X logo as well?

Cuz i dont see the point if xbtool doesnt support the latest x2 bios, why not just use the one that xbtool supports?

Thanks for the patches tho

QUOTE (angelfly @ May 11 2004, 11:28 AM)
I had only decided to do X2 4983 because I assumed it was the most popular being the latest x2 and all. My main bios is Evox M7 (which has a full red intro) so I really don't keep up with other bios' but if people want patches for other bios' just let me know and I'll make patches for them. Also I would have to make them for different configurations because after you change the colors you can no longer change the bios using xbtool. So I would have to make the patch based on a bios with your exact configuration (e.g no tm, boot from f:, etc).

Hey angelfly, that'll be cool if you can do that.

But I have a question, more than a querry I think.

But can't you apply the patch after you made the modifications!?

Like when changing the boot order, the X color and what ever else that might be changed using Xbtool.

Ofcourse I'm talking about the bios's that are supported with XBtool and not 4983.06.

Nice patches by the way, haven't tried them yet as I have little time in my hand at the moment but I have been following this very closely when I'm online.

Keep up the good work.

GreetZ

PS: Also,  can you make a .exe proggy like Xbtool to do this patches?  Of course as soon as you guys work out all the ins and outs.  Or maybe talk to NightShd and see if your patches can be implemented in his tool just like the X thingy, just an idea.  Good Luck!

I just made one right now that changes it to my colored setup. With it I am having a little bit of a problem getting it to work on already edited versions of the BIOS but it works with a clean 4983.06.

Yeah there are a bunch of changes when you pack it. However a patch for the kernel file could be made like that. Since the spot it's needs to patch will not change.

Never thought of just patching the kernel file. That should make things a lot easier. I will try that today.

Edit:

Only two seconds later i spotted the reply about it editing the kernel (therefore not alowing it to be opened in xbtool)

Hey angelfly do you have Aim/MSN/IRC/e-mail where i could ask for a request?

If i sent you something, could you patch it for me, then send it back?

That would be awesome, please instant message me on aim JJKM4A1 if you got a minute!
