x2 4983 Coloring Tutorial?
« Reply #45 on: May 01, 2004, 05:09:00 AM »

^^ That sounds really cool, will the ppf change everything or just the flubber in the bios?

I changed my flubber to blue when I was going for a dark purple. Here is what I did why is it now this color blue?

0x0006D9A0 70 08 00 00 D9 59 4C C7 41 48 00 00 00 00 D9 E8
0X0006D9B0 D9 59 50 C7 41 44 33 33 33 F3 D9 EE 5E D9 59 54

I wanted Red=153(0.6) Green=0(0.0) Blue=255(1.0)
This is what I got for red.
0.60 = 3F333333 = 33 33 33 F3

Thanks,
Kyle

the ppf files will be for the color unless I can figure out where fog is. But as for your problem with the color isn't .6 = 3F19999A hence 9A 99 19 3F

Sorry I ment to say 0.7 not 0.6 but the color is a full blue like red and green are 0 with blue being 1. When ever I try and change the value to something other then 3F080000 it seems to just set it at 0. Can you only have 0.0 and 1.0 as the floats?

0x0006D9A0 70 08 00 00 D9 59 4C C7 41 48 00 00 00 00 D9 E8
0X0006D9B0 D9 59 50 C7 41 44 33 33 33 F3 D9 EE 5E D9 59 54

The area in bold is what I have been changing. Here is what I have tried 3F080000, 43250000, 3F333333, and all values from 0.0 to 1.0 in increments of 0.05.

Also what ppf program should I use to apply the color ppf's if/when you make them? I use HCE 0.7 to apply ppf's to Halo but never needed to use a ppf on any other thing.

Thanks,
Kyle

notsloth: For the scene geometry all you can do is flip them around so you can have blue, red, or green and thats it (from what I understand).

Examples

Unedited: Every then is green.
0x00063F21 dword ptr [esi+28h] ; // red
0x00063F26 dword ptr [esi+2Ch] ; // green
0x00063F2F dword ptr [esi+30h] ; // blue

0x00063F39 dword ptr [esi+38h] ; // red
0x00063F3E dword ptr [esi+3Ch] ; // green
0x00063F41 dword ptr [esi+40h] ; // blue

0x00063F4B dword ptr [esi+48h] ; // red
0x00063F50 dword ptr [esi+4Ch] ; // green
0x00063F53 dword ptr [esi+50h] ; // blue

Edited: Every then is blue.
0x00063F21 dword ptr [esi+28h] ; // red
0x00063F26 dword ptr [esi+2Ch] ; // blue
0x00063F2F dword ptr [esi+30h] ; // green

0x00063F39 dword ptr [esi+38h] ; // red
0x00063F3E dword ptr [esi+40h] ; // blue
0x00063F41 dword ptr [esi+3Ch] ; // green

0x00063F4B dword ptr [esi+48h] ; // red
0x00063F50 dword ptr [esi+50h] ; // blue
0x00063F53 dword ptr [esi+4Ch] ; // green

I only changed it once, and when I did I changed all three I dont know why just did I will try out doing just one and see what happens. That might be why it is not working for you.

Ok I got the Xenium installed and I've got the patches all made. They are for X2 4983.06 Here are the colors I have:

Navy Blue
Orange
Pink
Purple
Red
Sky Blue
White
Yellow

Right Now I'm testing each patch to make sure they work properly. After I'm done I'll post the link

Will these patches work on version 4981 as well so that other things can be edited with XBTool, or do they only work on 4983?

JbOne has already found all of this....why not ask him for help?  He should know which values to change for the background and fog, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but JbOne was working with 4981 and not 4983...  unsure.gif
