Hi! I just wondering can I flash an NTSC MS bios on an PAL tsop? Let say both NTSC and PAL xbox are 1.0. Can I flash the NTSC 4034 bios on an PAL Xbox? Will it work? Actually all I want to know is MS using the exactly same bios on all region xbox (PAL, NTSC)? Thanks.

the bioses are identical among versions, there's no seperate ones for different tv modes.. the video output is set entirely in the serial eeprom.

Everything regarding type of video output, region, HDD key, etc is all contained in the EEPROM.

Thanks for help. That what I thought. Actually is one of my friend got an Japanese v1.0 Xbox with EvoX D6 tsop. But now he want to try Xbox Live (Japan / HK Live). He know nothing about xbox so he asked me for help. The problem is he don't have any original Japanese dashboard / bios backup at all. All I can find is my US v1.0 original 4034 bios. I just want to make sure before I flash his xbox tsop. ;)

the dashboard is also identical in the same way.

before you flash the tsop, make ABSOLUTELY sure his xbox is a 1.0.. otherwise 4043 WILL frag it.. the version number needs to match for the bios.
