Dvd Compatibility

What is the difference between the Samsung and the Thompson drives?  I know that my Samsung will not play +R media.  Is there any other difference?

if you read hsdemonz's tutorial on burniong backups and whatnot, samsung will play +R if burned correctly. you have to have it set the booktype to either DVD-ROM or DVD+RW. i tried it and i burnt a game with the DVD-Rom booktype setting and it worked perfectly. but i dont see what this hads to do with an Xbox Bios
