Can't Boot To Dashboard With 4983.06
« on: April 25, 2004, 06:35:00 AM »

Just flashed to the new BIOS, now, after getting the Xecuter logo screen, it blinks out and then reboots again, and does this forever until I turn it off. If there is a disc in the drive, it will boot that disc with no problems, so I can boot to Evo-X or a game as long as they're on a disc, but can't boot at all with nothing in the dvd-drive.

Using Evo-X 3935, though first I tried it with 3285.

Oh yeah, I'm flashing the Xbox TSOP, not a chip.

Argh. So I used an Evo-X disc to flash the BIOS back to an older (Evo 2.5) BIOS, and I now have the same problem even with that BIOS -- when it gets to the MS logo, it reboots if there is no disc in the drive. Boots fine if any disc is in the drive (original or backup/homebrew).

NOTHING has changed in my Xbox except for flashing the BIOS -- it hasn't even been moved, or for that matter even shifted slightly on the table.

Never mind. Not sure why, but for some reason it seems like some files on my C: drive must have been corrupted after/during the flash. After re-writing the evoxdash.xbe and some other files, all is fine.
