I'm not going out and wasting &60 or so on an Xecutor3 just to mess with my BIOS, when everything to do that is already around... I mean, thats a pretty big waste of money if you ask me... I TSOP all my Xbox' (since all 5 are 1.1's I  can have Multi-Bios) and that's all I never need, hope people can make an excuse to convince themselves $60 bucks is a good investment to mess with a BIOS wink.gif

Well, not everyone has the option of a Multi-BIOS TSOP.

Fact is, everyone has their preferences, loyalties and needs.

Have you seen the X3 Config in action?  BIOS edititing can't get any easier than that...  smile.gif

BTW, where do you get $60 from?  No one has given a final price...

I tried to make it clear that this was good for me since I have 1.1's, I know that alot of people are not so lucky...

Very True, can't argue with you there  wink.gif

Now see this is where we disagree alot... I could care less about spending money to mess with my BIOS when it really is not worth it... Unless you develop on your Xbox is there any reason to play with your BIOS more than you already can in XBTool? Just saying its not for me... IF someone wants to waste there money (my opinion) thats fine, its there money and can do what they wish. JUst not my cup o` tea.

JUst an educated guess... Given current pricing and the abilities this chip is either going to have or supposedly going to have I would guess the price is around $60... Maybe a little less, but with shipping and taxes, I would guess around $60...

This goes along with the preferences, etc comment I made above.   smile.gif   Remember, that's not all you'll be able to do with the X3.  Either way, sounds like you are a pure-blood TSOP kind of guy.   wink.gif

Seems like the Modchip WAR between Xecuter, SmartXX and Xenium is killing everything what was so great about the custom bioses. The time for Xbtool supporting new bioses is finally over. This is really sad sad.gif

What we need is a bios team working w/o any kind of interest on the modmarket.
Working just for fun, a dream... who want to spend $50-60 for such customisation ?
The modmarket always been full of shits, its been worse and worse and its not over yet.

You forgot to mention the unbelievable amount of time these guys have devoted to their relevent projects.
Time spent away from friends and family. The hair-pulling probs they must face. (especially Xenium).
Not to mention all the negative post's they get when they've worked hard on ironing out all the probs, just to find out the we've found more.

Would YOU do it for free?? I bet not!!
$50-60?? price of 1 game?? for that u unlock the true potential of a fantastic console!!

They deserve it m8!! Every penny!!
My thoughts anyway hehe

I don't like the Xecuter guys anymore. I think they will only give you the newest X3 BIOS releases when you sign a lifetime subscription of 5$ per BIOS release.  muhaha.gif

... moron ...

Since you don't like the "Xecuter guys" anymore... I hope you never load another Xecuter BIOS... you probably will though.

Has anyone tried manually changing the new X2 to run off different dash's?

It looks to me like it's been encrypted, if this is the case and if any of the Xecutor folks are tuning in, are there any plans to provide a tool to modify the boot sequence, or is the plan to provide the instructions to the XBtool developer?

You can just open the readme and it will show you the boot sequence.

The question was about changing the boot sequence, not just asking what it is.

That backup will be the same image that you started with, and did you bother to read this thread at all?  It has been stated that you cannot modify the bios, I dont know how many times you need to read that to understand what is being said.

the bios is not decrypted when you flash it, it is most likely done when loading the bios into ram.  I'm sure that it would possible to dump that memory (which is not the same at all as using the 'backup' option in evox, ava, raincoat, or anything else), and possibly modify that with some changes to the bootloader, but like was said - who wants the hassle?

Sorry if I came off as harsh, I thought it was pretty obvious that when you flash an image to a rom, reading the image off of the rom will leave you with the exact same thing that you started with.  For example: if you encrypt a text document with passwords in it, and put it on a floppy disc, you cant simply read the file off the floppy and expect it to be unencrypted.

so I guess from now on only this X3 Config can edit their latest bioses, presumably only working on the X3 mod?

Its crafty but sounds reasonable.

I wouldn't necessarily say 'crafty' is the right word..

sounds more shady then anything..

but like you said, sounds resonable...
