ok, this is the same EVERY new bios release.  You must wait for xbtool to support it.

You're doing nothing wrong, its just not supported yet, it most likely never will be supported either now that the 4983 BIOS is released. Give it a week or maybe even 2 and then you'll see support for the 4983 BIOS.

Did you even read the post right above your one? Its frustrating that the answer is right there for all to see and the very next post asks the same question. Its fucking ridiculous.

Actually 2 threads were merged into one, and the others were posted before yours thats why yours appears to be 3rd, when in actual fact it was first post in the old thread. No need to be abit of a dick about it though, but then 82ross didnt have to be a smart arse about it either when he didnt know the facts. Ignore him  beerchug.gif

It doesnt work for me, you sure it was 4983 and you were using xbtool 1.0.22 cuz I just tried it myself and its not working for me.
If it does check your patchdata directory and see if there is anything for the 4982 or 4983 in there.
I realy need XBtool updated so I can make Avalaunch bootable (I have everything on my F partition).

interesting.

I got the 4983 just now and used a copy of XBTool that I downloaded on Monday and it works fine for me.

But that's a pretty cool feature!

oh please do tell the rest of us where you downloaded this updated version of XBTOOL that works with 4983?? It certainly isn't at the main site...I just tried to download again and I still get: XBtool_1.0.22.rar

What version did you get??

so how does one flash NEW bios when it comes out? the latest one xbtools supports is 4981. i have no problem finding an older bios that'll work with it but for future reference this would be handy.

4983 comes with a size tool so yo should be able to use it.  Thats really the only thing you need to do unless you have your dashes nested or in different partitions other than c:

I agree, placing all of your files on the f partition is becoming more and more common place since MS doesnt check that partition (and you dont risk screwing around with original MS files).
I bet most people who use something like XBtool just use it so they can point to a dashboard in their f partition. It is simply no longer an excuse to be releasing a BIOS that requires a third party utility to do something so common.
