Actually, it isn't a lot of trouble.  I've got my Xbox running PS2 games now.  Of course it's true, there's a video!  

My point isn't to be proven right or wrong - just that videos are not definitive proof of anything except the existance of said video.  Take that fat kid light saber video for example, I'm certain he was never in the Matrix but there's a video of him weilding a big ol' metal pole, battling the Agent Smith clones in The Matrix.

It's a "show me the money" kind of deal...

I say JbOnE should just walk away with his code like complex did cause of people calling out fake. If devs have to be in here trying to calm rumors down then they can't work on their projects. It'll be out when it's done.

It's nice to see that you are capable of using the color filters supplied with your cheap NLE  ( NON LINEAR EDITING ) system. It's also nice to see that you can cut/ trim and splice clips. But.
One.   Get rid of the cheap camera. The scan lines from shooting off the screen are way too noticeable. Try using a capture device that at least lets you acquire straight from the source. ( I'd recommend S-Video or Component. )  Then it would at least be close to as clear as the "FAKED" (yea RIGHT)  ones frm the tHc guys.

Two.   If they are faked then lets see you put your MAD EDITING skills to work and produce a series of them that depict only different elements from the boot sequence being changed.  ( Like the tHc guys nust have to "FAKE" all the ones they did. ) Comeon lets see you take a green boot ani and change only the FOG element of it to another color.    I've been working with Professional NLE's for several years now and would not even bother attempting to do it. The time wasted for a "JOKE" would not be worth it.  Oh and don't try adding a colored FOG filter from After Effects over the video. It can be spotted from a mile away.

Three.  If you sat down and extracted the kernel for youself and made some of the changes that NghtShd posted you would then see that it is not faked..  But I am to believe that would be too difficult for you.  

Four.    If you were even remotely aware of the things that JbOnE and the rest have done with the M$ dash then you would not begin to doubt their abilities.  Go try loading up the tHc dash for your self and become a believer.

I'm truly surprised you noticed something that isn't even there.  I never bothered to turn overscan cropping off, so there's the appearance that this was "shot" with a camcorder.  I captured at full NTSC resolution and then dumped the second field when I resized the video to 320x240.  The video is straight progressive 30fps, if you're seeing scanlines, you're imagining them.

The lack of clarity is due to artifacts from low bitrate Windows Media compression.  Of course, I could have made the file shorter and upped the bitrate.

I'm not doubting that it can be done...  My point was, which even after quoting my original post you still missed - there is no point in getting all giddy over a video.  Someone with way too much free time and more video editing than hacking skills could spend the time making a really elaborate hoax video and someone would end up falling for it, hook, line and sinker.  They won't be from me though, I'm not spending more than a few seconds video editing to prove a point.

There is a point when you know the video comes from someone with a known track record in the scene, then you even get the offset for a piece of it to try out yourself.  So there is no question the video is real and this hack will be out, that is worth getting excited about to me.  

If someone (anyone) just posted a video with no name associated to it or proof of any kind like how they accomplished whatever the video showed or that they are capable of such things, then yes what you say is true, but that simply wasn't the case here at all.

Haha u guys dont give up do you. Yeah Yeah its fake it so fake that even ths dash is fake there all screenshots made up in photoshop. Think about this why would they make something fake when they got 1 of the best dashboards released under there name?. I only have the bios to test it nothing else & NO im not going 2 release it or leak it to the usual places. I have been with THC grooup since day one when we started 2 play around with the M$ dash so i aint going 2 back stab em. For the people that think this is fake why dont you find the offsetts your self & change em & see what happens or even better someone that has found em & changed em release the bios to the usual places so these non believers can test it out them selves and see that it is not fake.

I didnt check the scene geometry offsets, i just assumed since red was the first, those refered to as "1a 2a 3a" would be green and "1b 2b 3b" blue and the value following be Alpha. RGBA

Aplolgies if ive copied anything down wrong. I know anyone can just look this up themselves (from JbOnE's idb), i just thought it cant hurt posting it. Thanks to those who worked out the offsets in the first place.
