Xbtool 1.0.20.b2
« on: March 02, 2004, 09:24:00 AM »

XBtool 1.0.20.b2 is available for testing. This version allows you to embed the HD key in the kernel. I've tested this with both kernels which support the feature. I also tested Evox M7 with a locked HD using an EEPROM image from a completely different Xbox and my hard drive unlocked successfully.

(The release version of XBtool 1.0.20.b1 had a bug that disabled the patch on 4981).

just curious.  Is that your personal EEPROM in the patch folder NghtShd? or is that a bogus EEPROM?

OK, I have a locked XBO HDD, it is from an XBOX that is in Detroit, I am in Lansing.

Can I use the embedded HD unlock feature to unlock the hdd, if so, then how?

Will I still need the EEPROM from the XBOX the locked HDD came from, 'cause the only person that could give it to me is in Atlanta.

Hit me back yo.

Just curious if you did anything special to get that hd to unlock when you used a different eeprom?  If got a stock hd that the board crapped out on long ago and would love to be able to use that hd as something besides a paperweight..lol

It's one I found in one of the cromwell packages. (I really should have removed it, because I don't think it works on 1.1+ Xboxes.)

Well, I embedded the known key for that drive in the kernel. I don't know if you'd call that special.

tongue.gif that's not too special...guess I'm going to have to dig around and see if I can find the hd key for it...or see if I can do the great hotswap in config magic and not screw the drive biggrin.gif

Evox M7 should open without an rc4 key as is it a multi bios. make sure u are using the Multi Ver setting in the drop down box.
