Xecuter2 4981.06 Problem
« on: February 27, 2004, 08:54:00 AM »

Ok, I backed everything up on my PC and reformatted the 160 GB HDD with the Evolution X format utility so I could get one big F: drive using Xecuter2 4981.06 bios.  However, when I go into Avalaunch's filemanager the following partion information is displayed:

C: - 499 mb
D: - 0
E: - 4881 mb
F: - 144959 mb
X: - 749 mb
Y: - 749 mb
Z: - 749 mb

This totals up to 152586 mb

To convert it to gb I divide by 1024, and that comes out to about 149 GB!  Where are the other 10 - 11 gigs!?  Any help extremely appreciated.  I want to get this set up right before I copy all of my stuff back over to the XBOX.  The HDD is 160 gigs. I want access to all of the space!

some companies round up to the closest size that's popular, did you zero the drive first? also, try using xbtool and edit the bios to make partition 6 take rest of the drive, then save and flash w/ those bios. just an idea, i dont know what would be not making the space show.

Ok, how do I "zero" my drive?  I just backed everything up like I said and the booted from Evolution X boot disc and re-ran the "Install New Drive" format utility.  And yes, rounding up or down is common, but not by 10 -11 gigs.  They might roung 157.4 gigs or something to 160, but not a 149.  I think I need to low-level format an zero my drive.  How can I do this?  If I must I could use Ziki's HDD preparer, but I'd rather use EVoX as I wouldn't have to open my Xbox or PC case.

Try dividing by 1000 instead.

According to RAM manufacturers...
1 Kilobyte = 1024 bytes
1 Megabyte = 1024 x 1024 = 1,048,576 bytes
1 Gigabyte = 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 1,073,741,824 bytes

According to hard drive manufacturers...
1 Kilobyte = 1000 bytes
1 Megabyte = 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000 bytes
1 Gigabyte = 1000 x 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000,000 bytes

Hence the 7.37% difference you're experiencing.

I also have a problem.  I have 6 partitions.

C:499mb Partition2
D:
E:4881mb Partition1
F:0mb      Partition6
X:749mb  Partition3
Y:749mb Partition4
Z:749mb Partition5

How can I eliminate X,Y,Z
and add that space to F:

I also want to take some space from C:
and add it to F:

I know that E:/apps/.......i can load games from the HD...is there a way where I can make it look in F: as well as E: ?

thanks.

I don't think there is any way to do that.  I think the XBOX uses XYZ to cache files.  Since you have a stock hard drive you are pretty much stuck with that arrangement.
