the latest bios is not always the best, they can be buggy, sometime an earlier version of an bios could be better to use, multi bios is a option.
why are you using msdash??

Hello Everyone,

I have tried a few bios version and still have XBox LIVE enabled. I also would like to have it disabled. I continue to fight the error 21 and repalce file once LIVE screws my box. I never go online so what would everyone suggest?

the problem is your dvd drive is accessing the disk when you go to ms dash.
i have a modified samsung 616t and i had no problems at all until a few minutes ago. one thing i noticed was that my dvd drive status said init with nothing in the drive. so i pulled out the dvd drive and fixed one of the wires i have soldered on the pcb board. now it goes to msdash fine.

actually it was one of the four wires which i needed to hook up to make my 616t work correctly. they are soldered directly to the pcb on the drive. the way the drive is set up i had to cut some of the housing for the wires to run to the plug.

nvm, fixed the wire and still have error 21.
