I'm adding a patch to embed the HD key for the next release. This should mean you'll be able to embed a completely different eeprom from the one you use for Live! and still keep your hard drive locked. The kernel will use the embedded key and not the eeprom data to unlock the drive.

This patch is independent of the embed eeprom patch, so even if you aren't using that function you'll be able to embed the HD key (though I don't know how useful that will be).

smile.gif  maybe you can also add a toggle for the 'TEAMASSEMBLY' master password. this would be good if people used config magic to lock their drives wink.gif keep up the great work!

Do you know if EEPROM from v 1.0 would work with v1.2?
Is EEPROM version sensitive or not?

i'm a new to this eeprom stuff....so forgive me if i found myself a littel confuse from all this reading....but here's my question:

when using xbtool, the toggle section, what are the pros and cons of embedding eeprom.  also, i could care less for LIVE at this point...at least until madden and other sports title can go online.

so considerinng that...should i embed or not?  and what are the pros and cons of embedding...or not embedding for that matter...
