Xbtool And 4981?
« on: February 21, 2004, 05:35:00 AM »

I'm a little confused about how to edit the boot order in my 4981. I know that originally the author of xbtool said he wouldn't update it to work with 4981 but then I thought I read that he had. But if this new version exists then I can't find it.

So what the best way to modify my bios?

Yeah. Thanks for the helpful link.

Obviously I want to do it myself, but it's unclear what tool I should use.

My method to make my 1meg bios was too get a 256k 4981 bios then open in XBtool and edit 2 of them to launch c:/evoxdash.xbe and the other 2 to launch F:/Dashboards/Evox/evoxdash.xbe then i used a tool called multiple_256_bios_to_1MB

then made each file like this

bios256k_1
bios256k_2
bios256k_3
bios256k_4
Then put them in the root of the tools folder the open the .exe of the tool it will auto make them 4 bios files to a 1meg then i flashed it through evox making my latest bios  :D

I didn't know there was one. Thanks for the link. I see now that it does support 4980 and 4981 so I'll just download the latest version.
