The only thing that worked is switching the console to NTSC mode, but the guy don't have MULTISYSTEM TV, so he gets BLACK AND WHITE picture.

A decent scart cable will solve this .

(Just my $0.02 worth, (and kinda off topic) but actually a decent scart cable doesn't guarantee to fix this issue. PAL TVs see NTSC as black and white because the colour subcarrier in the NTSC signal is at a different frequency from that used by PAL (commonly 3.579545 MHz vs. 4.433618 MHz, although both come in many flavours.)

A single standard PAL TV can show NTSC as colour, provided she is fed a signal where the colour information is carried discretely. If you read "decent" as "RGB or fully wired", then what's been said does make sense, PROVIDED the tv set in question has an RGB capable scart. This way, the colour information will be derived from pins 15, 11, and 7 (R,G and B respectively)

If the tv does not have RGB capability, it will use the composite signal on pin 20, and the colour subcarrier will be missed, regardless of how good the scart lead.

So quit arguing it. Ok?)

If he is in Australia, NZ or surrounding areas, Most TV's don't come with SCART, they were never standard down here. If he hasn't got a multisytem TV, and doesn't have SCART, He may not be able to play NTSC games on that TV... try the xbox on a different TV that is known to show NTSC & PAL, that will hold the answer.

Thnx for the reply, and also to arallsopp.

but i know all that, and i know how to bypass the problem.

BUT My MAIN question is WHY DOES THE CHIP DON'T PLAY THE ORIGINAL IMPORT!!!

You are an idiot what don't you understand it has nothing to do with the chip, the chip will play the game if you change the system to ntsc, the problem is the game is made for NTSC so just use the enigmah videomode swithcher to set the xbox to ntsc & if he's tv doesn't work in ntsc mode tuff luck by a better one. I have read some dumb messages but this one is the lamest, people told you what the problem is & you still blame the chip LMAO

It is true... this bios has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this problem. The region is set in the eeprom. The game's executable has a region flag set in it and will only play in NTSC. In order for this flag's check to be passed the eeprom has to be set to ntsc. If it is so then it passes that check and goes on. If not it fails. It's that simple. THe xecuter bios does allow you to play all region games.... if you change your region on your eeprom. That's not a false claim. It's just you have to have the right equipment... and moreso be smart enough to get it to work. Also this is a piracy thread and should be closed. How could you have possibly got an out of region game? Did you go to the store and buy an NTSC game? I think not.
