Okies, I am just about to reflash my X2.3.. I wanna have 4981 on the first bank, and 4978 on the second for the ftp functionality "just in case".  My computer somehow got the file "Xecuter2.Build.4978.rar" from the usual places, but it has a 1meg bios in there. I have seen stuff about being able to split the bios into two, but I want to make sure that this is what I need to do with this particular bios.

Any help greatly appreciated..

Hey, I have a problem regarding this bios, maybe you can help.
Long story short, I REQUIRE the FTP func. in the bios.
I start it and hold A, the FTP server starts (say X3 etc... on screen)
From what I read, it sets itself to 192.168.10.123/255.255.0.0
I set my laptop to a similar address, same netmask with a crossover between it and the xbox but I can never seem to connect....
Am I doing something wrong?

Also, how dependant is that FTP server on the software?
The reason is that I have some broken soft hacks on there that i need to fix.
And the clock may be reset and looping.
Would this affect the FTP server in the bios at all?

hey im having lots of problems too,  the ip address 192.163.10.123 is inconsisten with the subnet 255.255.0.0 .  Should this be 255.255.255.25?

I copied this from a post some time ago.  There was a tool tha tlet you change the IP and SubNet of the bios but it only worked on the first release of the 4978 bios and not on the subsequent patched versions.  This should help though.

Unpack the BIOS with XBtool(info) using the multi config, unless it's a BFM, in which case you should use the debug config (with a debug RC4 supplied by you). Repack the BIOS using the same config you unpacked with. If you've set XBtool up properly for converting to BFM you can convert the BIOS to be bootable from media, but do not use this option if it already was a BFM version, just use the debug config.
