I've been trying to get DVD2XBOX to work for a while, and then read somewhere that i should try updating my bios. So i grabbed EvoxM7_ef_bfm bios, loaded it with phoenix, and things worked just fine.
But when i turned of my xbox, things got messed up again, until i reloaded the bios.
So does PBL only load the bios once? In that case, what bios is getting used when i turn on my xbox? I guess it's the original one, that comes on the chip.
In that case, is the only way to get the bios of my choice to load to flash TSOP? I'd rather not do that, cause i don't want to open my xbox just yet. Or is there a way that won't require me to open my xbox.

rename pheonix's xbe to what ever you have set to boot first, then set the bfm bios to boot like realdash.xbe or somthing

one question though, when i download the bises, it's just a bin file, so how would i change what it boots?

oh yeah, one more question, how do i know that bios loaded succesfully?
I guess if the XBOX doesn't crash, it's all good? And is there a way to see what bios is currently loaded? When i go to settings, it just sais undetectable

the only question i have is, what do you mean by "change the default.xbe to whatever your xbox boots up first"?

In the release of PBL, there is a default.xbe.

Evolution-X Bootup:
If your Xbox boots up to evoxdash.xbe, rename the default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe.

XboxDash Bootup:
If it boots up to xboxdash.xbe, first rename that to msxboxdash.xbe (So, you still have the original MS dash), and then rename the default.xbe to xboxdash.xbe

...then when the Xbox starts up, it will first run PBL, which in turn will give you your new bios. Make sure to customize the bios in XBtool so the bios load up your appropraite dashboard (Evolution-x, Avalaunch, MXM, etc) after the bios are loaded.

No problem, but PLEASE, and I mean PLEASE remember to customize your bios to load up your appropriate dashboard. Without that, you could be caught in a bad loop.

That's how I did it. I got comfortable with the app and finally today I decided to switch to it booting up first. Works flawlessly. The red LED is pretty sexy...
