X2 4980.xx And Xbtool
« on: January 05, 2004, 06:52:00 PM »

i dont understand what the point is of having a new bios if you cant get it to boot your system.  they should release it at the same time as xbtool is ready.  that way people like me dont have to feel cheated and continue to wait.  I need to get 4980.06 to boot from the F drive.  I need it to look to first boot avalaunch.xbe.  I dont boot off the C drive unless the XBIT Chip is in stealth mode for online play.  So there is really no point in having 4980.06 if you can't get it to boot the F drive!

Feel cheated?
Come on, these bios' and editing utilities are free - you sound as if you paid for support for a retail product. XBtool is written by someone separate to Team Xecuter, so it will take a bit of time to support the new bios. Why should we wait for support, especially those who don't need or use XBtool?
Just pretend 4980 doesn't exist for a few days if it makes you feel better  tongue.gif  - I'm sure XBtool will be updated soon.

You're suggesting that they hold off on releasing the BIOS until Nightshd finishes tweaking Xbtool for it, simply because you need it to boot to F:\avalaunch.xbe?  I'm curious as to how selfish a human being can be if they say they don't want anyone else to have the BIOS until they themselves can use it to their liking.

Here's the way it works.  The BIOS devs release them when they release them.  Nightshd releases a new build of Xbtool when he gets to it.  Most people are not delayed.  You sit and wait and patiently for these philanthropists to get around to your agenda.  You don't connect to Live in the meantime.  If you don't like it, tough luck.

Stop being a whinging little bitch and hex the BIOS yourself, and if you cant do that then STFU and wait for a new XBtool release.

Every time a new BIOS comes out all the moaners and whingers show themselves, "ooh boohoo poor me i cant change the BIOS in xbtool, it wont boot from other partitions"  dry.gif

Just suck it up and wait you big bloody baby.  dry.gif

I couldnt have said it better myself. They think that just cuz they can't get it booting from the f:drive they assume that everyone else has that same problem rendering the new BIOS useless....selfish people they are!

Put avalunch on C, problem solved.

one of the more entertaining threads of late.

Couldn't agree more with Xeero.

"Hey wait!  My mod's broken!  Everyone stop your developing until I re-solder the bad wire 'cause you're all having fun while I'm just sitting here pouting with a broken xbox."

edit:  "OK, I'm back up.  Carry on"
