But still, this is great news! I tried using a banned eeprom to save mine for future use, but that has issues with save games. Can't wait to get this puppy running.

sad.gif XBTool doesnt want to open the bios so i can set it to boot evox from F

Do we really have to go over this with every bios release?  Either wait for a new xbtool to come out, or learn to use a hex editor.

biggrin.gif please tell the offsets to change it. , sorry i have never hex edited the bios , thats why im asking.

TeamXecuter... WELL DONE on this new release

works great for me... but the only thing annoying.. is the no RESET on Eject... u should put a seperate bios for it in the PACK... so we can choose if we want reset or not.. coz i personally like it.. (habbit)...

any ideas on when XBTOOL is released?

Hex Editing boot dashes:

Does this seem like the correct spot (just change the Partition2 to PartitionX, where X is the partition I want to boot from?):

I'd suggest buying a bigger harddrive (I rarely use my optical drive and it is sooo much faster for everything).

www.techbargains.com - always has incredible rebate deals
www.pricewatch.com - fairly decent source

If you wait for a good deal you can be in a 120GB drive for around $60.

<hopefully this translates ok and you have access to cheap hardware wherever you are posting from>

BTW - Thanks Team X!  Nice work.

No, Rainbow six and PGR2 don't auto sign in to XBL as far as I'm aware from previous discussions. They are "live aware" meaning you can see your buddy lists and send/recevieve game requests while playing single player, etc etc...HOWEVER, for this to happen (which obviosuly requires an XBL connection), you MUST choose your XBL gamer tag as your game profile when you load it up...if you choose a normal profile it will not jsut connect to XBL unless you hit one of the live tabs/play online etc.

Any XBL bans come from ppl chosing the wrong thing, not auto logins, with the exception of the MS Dash auto login....which can be disabled easily enough. And if you use a bios that boots to evox/ava etc I don't even think this is a problem (unless you accidently load your MS dash, so it's best to turn it off anyways wink.gif

Well, in order to actually play through either of those games you have to have a profile. As soon as you make one it connects to live whether you want it to or not.

The first time I put Rainbow Six 3's disc in my xbox, booted it up, got to the menu, the very first thing it did was connect to Live. Before I did _anything_.

So yea, it's avoidable, but it's also pretty easy to get banned if you're not careful.

smile.gif ALso, did you have auto connect on in the MS Dash?

Check here also:

http://forums.xbox-s...T&f=53&t=129140

It appears there is a typo early on:
"If this is a backup, and you have Live on your Xbox and using it with the modchip off" should read "modchip ON" wink.gif

Everything else contradicts this otherwise smile.gif

Sorry FLuKE11, but I'm gonna trust Shanafan on this one. No offence.

"Also, in backups that are Live enabled, do not make a profile in the game that matches your gamertag." Sounds like this is what you might have done FLuKE11. It;s pretty easy to do, since you'd more than likely use the same nick for your gamer tag and all your game profiles, and my guess is that it would be FLuKE11 smile.gif ALso, did you have auto connect on in the MS Dash?

Actually, yea I did have auto sign-in on. It's off now.

But, my xbox live gamertag is different than any of my profiles, but Rainbow Six 3 and PGR2 still logged in automatically (before disabling auto sign-in of course). They don't anymore tongue.gif

What I'm saying is your average gamer might not realize you can stop most games from getting you banned, (I hadn't seen shanafan's threads before today), so yea, some people can still fuck up and get themselves banned pretty easily.

But yea with a little work it's avoidable, not everyone is as well informed as others smile.gif

A quick question... this release has the LBA48 patch already in it.. will it mess up my F: partition at all if I do a straight upgrade from D.6? (F: is only 74 or so GB)

..or do I need to wait for xbtool to come out with an updated version so I can unselect the LBA48 support? uhh.gif

no it wont damage your F
