you need one of the 1 mb flashes for 1.0 or 1.1 xboxes
i used #3 but if your harddrive is bigger than 130 gigs use #7 or 10
do not use 256k flashes on your xbox

no he doesn't, he's flashing his modchip and he said he has a matrix which is a 256k chip. his best bet would be to use ........7-4) Flash 256K MOD or v1.2-1.5 TSOP w/ X2-4977 , i'm assuming since he is asking which choice he isn't going to want to make a custom slayers disc with 4979.

on the start logo i see matrix inside under the big xbox logo. that mean i have matrix chip right?

no, that just means your using one of the evox bios's that put that text there. the chip it self can't do anything to your system, only the bios you flash it with. it sounds to me like you need to find out for sure what chip you have. it is definately possible you have a matrix, but not guarenteed. basically as far as flashing goes,

matrix = 256k
everything else = 1mb (1024k)

well, i'm pretty sure chip type will tell you what type of chip is on your chip, for example if you have an x2 lite, that is the retail name and the name of the whole chip, however i think that program your using will tell you the name of the flash chip that is used on the x2 lite. if you try to flash an unflashable chip you will just get an error and won't damage your xbox. you need to contact whoever put the chip in your xbox for you and find out what it is. evox2.6 is a very old bios though i think and its possible you may have a cheap mod. i don't know too much about cheapmods and i don't know if their flashable or not.

i flashed with 7-4) Flash 256K MOD or v1.2-1.5 TSOP w/ X2-4977 now everything when fine. but in EvoX dashboard it says bios: unknown on top. is that normal?
