X2.4974 Bios And Strange Results

Wait a minute, when the normal Xbox HDD is in does it actually say Executor 2? If not and it says MS then you havent chipped it correctly. Ahhh wait, the other issue it could be is, make sure your xbox clock cap has charge so it doesnt lose the time or it will give error XX (Xx= what wever the number of the error is). Also if you cant even read the cdrw when you boot with the normal drive, then that cd isnt burnt properly.....Thats why you are probably getting that error. Make sure it says executor 2 when it boots, After that make sure your media is fine and it should work correctly.

yup, when the orginal xbox HD is in it says Xecutor 2 when the new one is in it doesn't say anything at all.

does it lose the clock settings as soon as i unplug the power cable?  i've been doing that when switching the HDs.  this "clock cap" should get charged as soon as I plug the xbox in right?  so if the clock isn't set when i startup with the new HD it would give me an error. i'm pretty sure the clock was set when i tried the new HD and it gave me an error 13

Ok now im definatly sure its the media, what kind of cd drive do you have? Luckily i got a Samsung drive:D Also when we chipped a older one with the thompson drive, we needed a cdrw, make sure you burn it correctly, use both types of media just incase.

i'm using an old mitsumi external usb burner, and sony cd-rw's.  I used the same type of cd-rw's when i flashed the bios though and that worked..

i'm still not getting why xecuter doesn't appear when i have the new HD plugged in though

thanks for your help so far, i guess i'm going to try buring slayers on a cdr for now and possibly a different type of cd-rw later

usb drives won't work. maybe in cromwell but not in an xbox bios. xecuter2 doesn't appear because the xbox is looking for a dashboard which isn't there and it only shows the logo if a xbe is found and executed
