What's The Bios For Xbox?

My findings are that X2 has better support for games and IGR reset..

But I'd like to get more info before I stard modifying the machines!

An x2 does not have any 'better support for games' then an evox bios.  The latest of both have media patches.  Yes, x2 has IGR in the bios, however, if you want to use the 'extra' features of evox such as trainers and debug tsr, you have to use the IGR in the dash, which conflicts w/ the IGR in the x2 bios.  I have been running the m7 bios since the day it was released (a little before then tongue.gif) and have not had a single problem with it.  Chances are 10 to 1 that you have a 1mb chip, and can flash both onto your chip, and then make your own decision about what is better.

I need some help here because I'm new.. By trainers do you mean game trainers which can be used for infinite lives etc? And what does debug TSR mean? Is it used by coders to debug their programs? Or am I talking BS here? smile.gif

Evox 3921 has a trainers features built in.  Yes, they are game 'cheats'.  Debug TSR usefull in making trainers.  (IGR in evox is actually a TSR but we wont go into that since it is seperate from the aforementioned debug TSR).

I'm currently using audio exploits (i've tested X2 4977 and EvoX D6) and haven't been able to find ready  EvoX M7 BFM BIOS (atleast from Xbins).

There is no m7 bfm.  Why? becuase it is based on the newer 5101 kernel and the 2bl hasnt been patched with the bfm flags.

QUOTE
I'm thinking about flashing the TSOP, but I guess that multi BIOS option doesn't work there very well, because you gotta solder switches etc and the Xbox-Linux guys didn't recommend it! smile.gif

Thats upto you, but I would just recommend getting a chip.

QUOTE
I remember someone saying that EvoX's IGR doesn't work properly! Is there any truth to that?

In old versions of evox, this was true.  With the newest version, I have yet to have any problems.

QUOTE
I found atleast one game that doesn't work with X2, but works with EvoX.

oh?  unsure.gif
what evox are talking about since it isnt m7 as stated before.

QUOTE
Currently I have disabled all EvoX dash IGR options (from evox.ini), because I've heard it's better to disable them and use X2's built-in IGR.

That used to be the case, now the both work equally as well.

QUOTE
BTW: How can you disable X2's IGR option?

Put an empty file named: x2_IGR_disabled in the root of the E drive.  Reboot the xbox.

Am I correct that this works only with the latest X2 BIOS. I tried it with X2 4977 and it didn't work. Or maybe I did something wrong.  blink.gif

Do the trainers from EvoX dash also work when using X2 BIOS (4977 or some of the newer ones)? Or do they only work when using newest EvoX M7 BIOS and how about older D6? Also do the trainers work when using BFM BIOS'es?

heinrich, thanks for nice and informative reply.  smile.gif
