One Way 4978.3 Dash,boot,etc Changing

To change xecuter2_4978.3 dash,boot,etc.Get xbtools 1.0.8b19 load up the bios ,now go to the tmp dir in your xbtool
and copy 4 files,yes this bios has an extra file fbl.img in it.Copy
these files in to another dir ok.Now use hiew dos hex editor to
edit the xboxkrnl.img to boot from different dash drive etc and save,now go back and delete the files in tmp folder of xbtools
and copy the edited files back to in to tmp folder in xbox tools dir.Note do all this without quiting xbtools ok.
Now just do normal save bios in xbtools ,dont click on any options for now just save ok.
Ok now quit xbtools,run xbtools again now load up are saved bios back, now you may change options led,etc ,but do not tick
bfm box ok,save your bios back in a different name,quit xbtools 1.0.8b19.
Now get xbtools 1.0.8b16 or 15 and run it load up the edited bios we saved early on,once opened go in to the tmp dir
in xbtools  1.0.8b16 or 15 an you will see only 3 files this time
now rember fbl.img one of the 4 files we saved earlier copy only this file in to the tmp folder,leave the others alone.now
tick bfm option and save.You have just got yourself a bfm xecuter2_4978.3 bios wich can now boot from any dash and drive,etc.
This bios boots great with PBL1.3.5i and other un suported bioses with this method as well ok.

PS:If you try things even a poor man's dream comes true.

Strange, with my XBtool_1.0.8b19 and official 4978.03 i don't have the extra fbl.img in the tmp dir  :blink:

You are right alg5, I have looked in my multi.ini there are 2 extra lines FBL_base_ROM_address=0xffffd400
FBL_size=0x2980 for some reason i must have added this sometime earlier from
xbox1.1 ini as my xbox is ver 1.1 to experiment win other bioses and i left that in and forgot all about it.This is what is giving the fbl file in the temp,so if that's the case ignore my note about fbl image and just do the rest as is and see it still works ok.
Has anyone tried saving the bios normal and not as bfm and flashing  it?, i just keen to know as i don't have a flashable mod or i would have tried this also.
