Trying To Connect To Ftp X2 4978.03

I changed my subnet mask to 225.225.0.0 but when I connect with flashfxp it says Connection failed (Connection timed out) in red, what does this mean? I didn't enter a default gateway though because I didn't know what to put there, maybe that's what's wrong, what should I put there? I used a crossover cable. help appreciated

My 4978.03 FTP is accessable when the submask is as yours, i.e. 255.255.0.0 AND my default gateway is 192.168.0.1 even though the instructions for 4978.03 say otherwise. The password should be x3, x3 and the port setting 21. I find on occassion that I need to switch the box off and back on, wait a second then try. I have also noticed that EVOX FTP access is granted with the same submask. Are you connecting directly or through a hub. If through a hub I believe the cable has to be straight.
