Tested this out, works great with the new dash's IGR, and the media patch works perfect.  And its nice to see 5101 bios out, for those with 1.4/1.5 biggrin.gif
non-EF one good for those with the matrix chip wink.gif

Maybe a stupid question, is this BIOS patched for LBA48? Also XBtool 1.0.8b17 does not seem to like this BIOS, any ideas?

Thanks

No, its not, and just like any new bios release, you need to wait for xbtool to be updated.

yea I need a new bios....and dash for that matter.I am always worried that it will have a bad flash and I iwll have to take the chip out and so forth.Anyway does it work with the 1.8.3285 evolution x dashboard?Don't see why it wouldn't but just want to make sure.....

There is no reason that it wont work an older dash.

Hate to be a pain and ask a dumb question but how long do you think until someone makes a color bios for these bios?

Uhm, again, once a new version xbtool is released.  It usually only takes a day or so.

How do I go about flashing this new M7 bios on my Executer 2 Lite?

I have no programmer.

Can I just use the flashing program by Executer team?

Does the bios have to be 512KB?

since the M7 bios I downloaded seems to be only 256KB. Or what other methods are there for flashing it on my X2 Lite?.

i assume your xbox is working with the x2. leave it this way. the m7 bios is the first one for xbox 1.4/1.5 but for older versions there is no difference to an x2 bios except bios igr

Well I figured I needed a 512KB bios so I made one out of X2 bios 4976.02

I was using the latest bios but I was getting ramdom freezes. This wasn't happening before with 4976.02 so I went back to it.

BTW that flashing utility from Executer team takes a really long time to flash.

However testing I went ahead and used the bios flash utility included with Evolution X and it works nice and fast as long as it as a 512KB. If I flash the 256KB bios it will then give me error 13 on bootup.

lucky CDs still boot... so I was able to fix the problem using a 512KB bios.

Can this M7 BIOS be flashed to the TSOP?. I know the .nfo file that comes with it says it has been tested but has anyone here actually tried it?

I am currently using a much older Evox 2.6. I tried flashing 4977 to the TSOP and it nearly killed my xbox. Next time I want to be sure a BIOS is suitable for the TSOP before I flash it. I always flash as orig + orig + hack + hack with a switch so absolute disaster is avoidable.

I wonder if the Evox dudes are going to make the LBA48 code standard. Would be nice don't you think?

m7 works on the tsop but 4977 did too for me on an older box. anyway m7 works on my v1.4 and the lba48 patch will be there soon. xbtool is updated that often a new version will be out today or tomorrow

Is it not already easy enough to do with xbtool?
That is why Paul worked with NghtShd on getting into xbtool, so you can easily patch any bios.
I can see it now...

The M7 is released in 10 versions:
One with Ejectfix (EvoxM7_EF.bin)
One without Ejectfix (EvoxM7.bin)

One with Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ Large F drive(EvoxM7_EF_Large_F.bin)
One without Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ Large F drive(EvoxM7_Large_F.bin)

One with Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ G drive (EvoxM7_EF_G_drive.bin)
One without Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ G drive  (EvoxM7_G_drive.bin)

One with Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ Large F drive, Ignore table on drive (EvoxM7_EF_Large_F_ignore.bin)
One without Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ Large F drive, Ignore table on drive (EvoxM7_Large_F_ignore.bin)

One with Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ G drive, Ignore table on drive (EvoxM7_EF_G_drive_ignore.bin)
One without Ejectfix, LBA48 w/ G drive, Ignore table on drive (EvoxM7_G_drive_ignore.bin)

(And I am leaving 8 more combinations out.)
Would be a little silly dont you think?
I really hope that no teams make a release as the one above.  If something can be easily patched in via xbtool, then there is no reason to make seperate releases for each option.  This is the same reason why teams dont release color mod, and no ani bios's.  Cause it is so incredibly easy for the end user to do.  If you are looking for a group to do this, maybe Dominion-X could be make a return  laugh.gif

If these EvoX guys can release a debug version of the M7 BIOS, we're all set!  Why you ask?  Well, in order to take screenshots and grab movies! (-:

i just wanna get this straight..
this bios will work on a flashed TSOP with a switch?
all multiversion bioses i've tried have never worked with the TSOP.
since this verision is based off the D.6, i'm a little skeptical.

I don't think it's based on D.6.  My interpretation is that they took the newer kernel and hacked that.
