This Is A Horrible Question
« on: September 17, 2003, 09:16:00 AM »

Hi, ovbiously i'm not a noob,i know the rules mostly i know how to use the search button.  I haven't had my internet set up at my new APT for a while so i'm just getting back into the xs loop again.  But what's the difference between x2 4977 and x2 4978.03???  Is it just the built in FTP?  If so, what's the point?  Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking this at all i would just like to know.  Is it really useful now or is it more of a thing to help in the future.  Thanks a lot and sorry for the dumb question!

Have you ever messed up your dashboard and you had to use an evox boot cd only to find out that you only have cdrs and you have a thomson dvd drive??? There's just one example scenerio where this feature comes in handy. It proves to be a lot nicer to have than to not have.

The 4978.03 is just a proof of concept build to show that .xbe's can be embedded into the bios and run.

ok thanks guys.  I do see how that can come in handy.  It hasn't happened to me yet, but i am pretty sure it will.  I have a dvd burner (haha mostly because i had a thomson drive) but i see now the importance.  I dont really understand though.  You mean mess up your dashboard like it doesn't run at all correct?  I'm assuming that's what you mean because otherwise you could use that to ftp.  So could you use the ftp in the bios if it's at that error screen?  If so that's really cool.  And what is the ip?
thanks
