I keep hearing people talking about AV cables and softmodding. I have the original cables using PBL 1.4, and my screen gets all glitchy. Do the cables have anything to do with this? <

No... chances are you have a version 1.5 Xbox with the focus chip and that is the reason for it. <

yep....I had the same issue until I found the newest release. Now it works just fine. <

Yep the new pbl (1.4/.1) have focus chip support so you don't have a scrambled screen on bootup. Downside of these new pbl is that it doesn't have s-video support so it won't work if you have an advanced s-video cable. <
