Rc4 Key Question
« on: September 11, 2003, 03:59:00 PM »

I have searched and have found an explicit answer to this question.

I know an RC4 key is what locks/unlcoks my xbox.  My question is how do I extract mine?

I am looking to use XBTool, and I cant setup the config file.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. :D
Thanks.

You don't need an RC4 key to use xbtool, as long as you are using one of the newer multi bioses.

You are probable correct on what you think that the rc4 key does.

It's just that since all the new xbox versions use the some RC4 key, the maker of xbox tool decided to build this into the program so we don't have to go searching around for it.

im pretty sure the rc4 key in NOT built into xbtool, the rc4 key is used to decrypt an encrypted bios, most released hacked bios are not reencrypted and because of this there is no need for the rc4 key

Team X2 and Evo-X both found ways to avoid the use of RC4 keys in all multi bios. XBTool doesn't require an RC4 key to unlock anything in the bios you're attempting to modify. My guess is you got a crap zip/rar of xbtool. Your best bet is to get a new version, either from it's home page (I don't have the url, sorry) or #xbins and try again. :)
