Bios Selection Through Eject/power Hold
« on: September 08, 2003, 02:34:00 PM »

Thinking of a BIOS hex hack to boot to the TSOP bios (my last post), it seems possible that two 256KB BIOS could be pinned together into a single 512KB BIOS with the option of selecting one or the other by holding the Power button during boot.  Power button tap starts the first BIOS, Power button hold or Eject button starts the second 256KB BIOS.

Just thinking out loud as the Cameleon users laugh that this is doable through software using that mod chip...

Yes, I've also considered the 4978.02 NghtShd hack that allows you to select a dash/executable at boot time... combined with multiple instances of Pheonix each defaulting to a different BIOS. And yes I know that Pheonix v1.3 has an option to use Tray Eject to select 1 of 2 bioses thus making a combined total of 16 BIOS boots possible... but I'm thinking of a simple 2 BIOS selection built into one 512KB BIOS.
