***** LBA48 Warning *****
If you choose the partitioning option "Partition 6 Takes Rest of the Drive", and if your drive is greater than 137GB and has a partition 6, data corruption will result. Only use this option if you plan on reformatting partition 6.

The many mod makers out there have made it painless for us to reflash our bios', but that doesn't mean the results will always be painless.. Always read every nfo of any piece of xbox related sotware top to bottom before using it...

Now I'm running a Matrix Modchip and I have abig WD Hard Drive (175GB).
When I saw that XBTool provided the possibility to patch the X2 4976.02 Bios so it would recognize the big HD I picked up the ball and since them I'm in a struggle to get it working.

First off
Matrix has a 256k flash rom.
4978.02 is a 512k bios.
You do the math.

Angel67,

Paul is checking my 4976.02 patch for me. If there is a probelm I'm sure he'll find it. I didn't see any issues in my testing, but I don't have a > 137GB frive, so I can't fully test these.

It's an avalaunch problem.
It freezes during boot.
Evolution X boots OK.
I'm using evolutionX 4972
And Avalaunch 47.4.
For some weird reason Avalaunch would not boot if the hard drive is bigger than 137 GB (AKA Huge F Drive)

I am having the same problem creating a x2 4277 bios with LBA 48 and using MXM as a the dash.  When it boots, it just hangs.

Evox will load fine, but MXM 09n5 WIP will not.

This is using the latest b16 version of xbtool and the newest MXM WIP binaries.

I know MXM is just getting the support for eprom backup/restore, partition 7 and formatting built in and may not be fully stable yet.

Older version of MXM work fine, so I let BJ know about the problem.  Others have it working though, so I am unclear as to the problem.

I am going to try a slightly older version of Xbtool just to see if it makes a difference.

Just thought I would share the info.
