Big hearty thank you for the LBA48 hack! The first "big" hack in some time for the scene!!

The best part is that the hack is "installable" into any of the current BIOSes, making the addition of this feature as easy as changing the color of the logo.

I guess this is also directed at the XBTool team.... as this significant hack is not specific to a BIOS, it seems that future hacks might be given the same "plug-and-play" capability? I think the X2 Media patch is fair game at the moment... as long as it's acknowledged, of course. IGR? EEPROM check? There are a lot of possibilities here.

Nice to see the blood is flowing once again through the veins of the community, even if others have been opportunistic in the ensuing excitement.

Thanks Paul:
It is truly a great thing to see your work unfold.  I am not a hacker or a coder, but I highly appreciate your work.  You have given us a gift.
And, you make it all sound so damn elementary and easy!? beerchug.gif

Yup, definately the biggest hack in quite a while.  So funny that some said the scene was slowing down a while ago.  It just went from 0-60 (or 137GB to 2.2TB)  You cant tell me that anything is impossible now.  Im just sittin here with a 250GB on order and a big smile on my face.  Thanks oz_paulb!!!!    love.gif   pop.gif     beerchug.gif

Great hack! Thanks a lot. My 120 GB HD will last for a while, but it's great to have the option to use a bigger one.

@stastuffis
If you want to be an early adaptor, you get the thrill, and rest assured, you wil be the first to know if there are any bugs. Generally spoken... rolleyes.gif

If in doubt of some new cool feature, just wait a few days and watch this very forum... biggrin.gif

Nope.  Although I've done some reading of Tivo hack forums in the past (interesting stuff!), I haven't ever done any hacking on one (I don't even own a Tivo - I'm waiting for the DirecTV version of Tivo with HDTV support).

is that hard drive space available, or an i.p. address... wink.gif

A great hack - but I can't buy a hard drive in excess of 137 gigs in good faith until we have some sort of defrag available.   I can only imagine what my 120 would look like in defrag after over a year of loading and unloading stuff. tongue.gif

That's 291GB of free space (empty f drive, right after install). Dumped about 60gb to it so far. As for defragging, it'll come in time, but realise that with 300gb, you're not forced to delete all that much, so fragmentation won't become an issue for some time yet.

Oz Paul.. you showed up here and asked a simple question "Has the 120 gig limit been breached yet?" and you made it sound as if you truly didn't know the answer. But when you heard people say no, that it was impossible... You stood up like a god and proclaimed that you would make it possible... and 2 weeks later.. .BAM.. It's done.

What you have accomplished is truly impressive. I thank you and everyone else using a modded xbox thanks you. It's people like you that make things happen. And I'm sure no one will ever forget.

This only makes me wonder what else you have planned after this.. Whatever it is.. I'm sure it'll be great.

Thanks to all those who have strived towards making this a kick ass community. And thank you Paul.. Your hard work is appreciated.

Yea what can I say that hasn't allready been said..... Paul you have proven a point that I try to remind people of daily in everything not just the Xbox world..... nothing is impossible....  i never believe anyone when they say it can't be done because for every person saying it can't be done there is someone trying to do it and prove everyone wrong.  Thanks Paul and hopefully it will reignite some fires in the scene and help people to do the "impossible".
