DISABLE PASSIVE transfer in  the FlashFXP Preferences/Options menu (it's a checkbox).  That's most likely what's causing your issue.

Diable firewall software if you have it running on your own PC (i.e. Norton Firewall, Zone Alarm, just to name a couple).  Describe your network setup in more detail...what type of router are you using, are you using static/dynamic IPs, have you tried to connect to your XBOX from OUTSIDE your home on a remote network, etc.

Also, how do you know you're even connecting to your XBOX if you cannot "see" any files?  If you're running EvolutionX as your dashboard go into System Utils/settings and verify that FTP is enabled and that you're FTP'ing into the correct IP address.

File/directory listing from FlashFXP when you're connected from your own LAN should be instant, no delays whatsoever.  If you have some sort of whacked firewall setup that would cause FTP problems.  Zone Alarm will prevent FTP access unless you have your XBOX IP listed as part of the "safe zone" in the Zone Alarm config.

i have no firewall running at all. im using a linksys router, befsr41 model number. im not sure about static/dynamic, all i know is that the xbox ip is always 192.168.1.103. i can connect when i am at a friends house, and he has the same router as me.

i know i am connected because it says i am connected. it just doesnt show file or folders.

i dont really have an idea why, it is not because of parentheses, because some of them sent that had them, and like the new found glory one is just letters, and it did not send. any ideas?

You probably had the XBOX cable plugged into the uplink port or something.  That would prevent your connection from working.  I also have a Linksys BEFSR41, only use the ports numbered 1 - 4.  Also, Linksys recently released a new firmware update for the BEFSR41 that includes "official" Linksys support for XBOX FTP transfers, so check their web site and download the new firmware at some point (although FTP will certainly work with older firmware).

Don't use ANY special characters in filenames (-, /, $, :, %, &, @, !, #, etc.).  XBFS only supports underscores ( _ ) in filenames, that's it.  Parentheses are DEFINITELY not allowed.  That explains your issues.

Hypens and other special characters supported in NTFS filenames are NOT supported by XBFS.  FTP transfers of files with those names will just simply crap out and return errors.
