Correct.  It looks like the FTP code just overflows past 512K.  You may consider using Phoenix Loader.

When you have a BIOS on a mod chip, it loads the BIOS into memory.  When you have the Phoenix BIOS on your mod chip, it will load a BIOS image (stored on your HDD or on a disc) into memory.  So you can still use the full 1024K image, just not on your Matrix.

The Phoenix Bios Loader is software for the XBOX. There is no such thing as the Phoenix BIOS. There are bios's that are bootable from media (BFM) that work with the Phoenix Bios Loader to load the bios into memory. The BFM bios' work with the Phoenix Bios Loader. There is a BFM bios of the new X2 4978 that will work. Do not flash a BFM bios onto ur modchip cause it may not work . Any modchip will allow you to run the Phoenix Bios lOader to load up the BFM Bios.
