X2 4976/4977 Network Cable Problem Fix

smile.gif  and What do you know it hasnet froze since.

If you are running Window 98 its quite hard to envoke this cause you have to delete the protocals instead of just disable them but if you are in windows 2000, 2003, xphome or xppro all you have to do is goto Start> Settings>Network Connections>  click on the network connection your xbox is linked up to and goto Properties then just uncheck EVERYTHING except Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

This problem is like a cancer.  It takes on various forms and has various solutions.  the solution you described has worked previously for someone else but there are those people who experience the problem and they don't even have a computer running.  So... each person just needs to find what works for them for now.

No there is only no link if you don't have the cable plugged in.  I have the cable plugged into a router.
anyway the "bug" you are talking about is discussed HERE.

and that thread was actually spawned from THIS
whole discussion.

If you are bored enough and read all those posts you see its the same bug taking many slightly different forms with many people coming up with fixes that work for them and a few other people.  yours was already mentioned in one of those threads but is not a "universal" fix.

Dunno why we needed another thread for this :|

because it is so cool that the avalaunch network init is loved by more than the programmer smile.gif   ( yes, I need to open the doors all the way to get my ego through the door )
