Does Evox D.6 Really Bypass The Clock Settings ?
« on: July 31, 2003, 02:25:00 PM »

I fried my hdd and not thinking unplugged my xbox for the night, I just got a modchip, is there a way to install a new hdd using EvoX D.6, I have heard that this bypasses the clock ?

If you chose the third option, NO, but there is a bios that does
then can you please tell me what that bios is ?

im totally confused about your question...or at least what happened.....

When you said you fried your hdd does that mean that it is physically destroyed, or did u just delete your necessary dashboard files ect.?

If your going to use any bios at this point, use Xecuter2....

If the hdd is physically broken, follow the installing a new hdd tutorial on xbox-scene.com , then download a new hdd installer, im not recommending slayers auto installer, but it might be an option..........

If its not physically broken, just put a cd-rw with evox on it and transfer all your backup files back

My hdd is totally destroyed, it won't boot.

I have heard of a lot of people getting an error 16 when installing a new drive because there clock has reset and they don't have the dash to set it any more.

What I have heard is that the EvoX D.6 bios bypasses the clock check therefore allowing you to install the new drive.

With out the D.6 bios supposedly it looks for the clock settings, it doesn't find it, so it tries to set it through the dash, since there is no dash it gives an error and won't load the dvd drive first.

here's what i did..

Bypass the clock setting ---> DVD check.. thats what he means

if your drive is totaly clean you cant set the clock to get back the DVD check..
so what you have to do is find a programmer or a friend with the same chip and hotswap and flash the D6 bios so it will load the installer DVD you have..

i already started a thread like this  Here

good luck and hope you are able to flash to D6 and install you new HD

Do you just mean that I have to flash my chip with the D.6 bios and then it will skip the clock check and allow me to boot my SLAYERS install from the dvd DVD drive and format my new drive ?
