I'd recommend 4976.02 for the Matrix, rather than 4977.

Also, the size of the Matrix flash ROM is 256K.  If you somehow got ahold of a 1MB file, you need to split it down to 256K.  Xecuter2 BIOS Manager can do this.

Those who use Live and/or mode 3 on the Matrix rely on the Xbox to reboot when they press eject after booting a disc directly.  With 4977's Eject Fix, the Xbox will not reset.  That being said, mode 3 users have no way of cycling the power with the MS BIOS active.
