Very Simple Question...
« on: July 28, 2003, 02:55:00 PM »

i'm modding my friends box and i think the x2.2 lite chip he got is defective.  i use a programmer to flash it and it's worked with the other 6 xbox's i've mdded but now his, and i know it's not my soldering cause i put my chip in and it works fine.  anyways i emailed the guy about a return or exchange and he wanted me to do a few things first.  one of them was put the orignal cromwel bios on and flash it using a dvd.....
my question sis this..... i just make a dummy file (say 500mg) and make an ISO with that and the bios.bin, then burn an image of that, correct?

thanks a lot, sorry an x-s xperience asked such a newbie question

Very Simple Question...

yeah i didn't go into very big detail about the chip i've done that a bunch already... with the original cromwell bios on it it will frag 3 times and then it will boot... with any other bios on it it will frag 3 times and then stay on with no picture and the led's flashing green/red.  i've tried old and new bios', using my programmer that i used on my chip and many friends chip and none will work.  I loaded the original bios on and it did what it did at first, will frag 3 times and then load the cromwell bios and ask for the bios cd.  So the guy told me to try and flash it using the cd..... that's where my question comes into play.....
