« on: July 27, 2003, 12:47:00 AM »

Hi i tried about 5 versions of xbtool.. no luck yet..

seem to run into a problem with my lastest no ani x2 4977 bios come with no DVD check..
so when i try to install a new blank HD it gives me error 16 even though i have a evox installer disc in the DVD.... got around this problem downloading evox D6 again then reflash after but is there a way to get DVD check back into 4977? seems xbtool locks it out....

Why don't you go and get yourself a new fresh copy of the bios and use that?

The dvd check on the 4977 bios just means that if there is no dvd drive present that it will ignore it.

The bios still tries to boot from the dvd first.

Is the clock set when you are trying this?? if not the xbox will ignore the dvd drive.

the clock cant be set since there is no software in the new 120GB drive..
i once reformated my retail HD with the 4977 bios. then rebooted.. of course give me error 16 because the drive is clean.. just format partition.. no software.. could not get the Slayers install to load.. because the DVD check is bypassed.. also cant go into dashboard to reset the clock because no M$ dashboard..  had to reflash chip with D6 to get dvd check back to run installation..
